Episode 500 - Yes, 500
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week where we celebrate 500 episodes plus the Monday joke, and an etiquette extra on the eclipse.
On today’s special 500th show, we take your questions on why we can’t correct others' etiquette, early RSVP expectations, bridal shower alerts for registry items, and to ask or not about a work issue. For Community Members, your question of the week is: To correct or not to correct? Plus, your most excellent feedback, etiquette salute, and a postscript on the past, present, and future of Awesome Etiquette.

Etiquette Extra - Eclipse
There is not a lot of etiquette for the celestial event of a total solar eclipse, but NASA has you covered when it comes to safety, safe viewing, cool projects, and more information than you thought you needed. We’ll start with some basic safety information, but follow the link to see what else NASA has to say about the day.
Eye Safety for Total Solar Eclipses
Here are some important safety guidelines to follow during a total solar eclipse.
View the Sun through eclipse glasses or a handheld solar viewer during the partial eclipse phases before and after totality.
You can view the eclipse directly without proper eye protection only when the Moon completely obscures the Sun’s bright face – during the brief and spectacular period known as totality. (You’ll know it’s safe when you can no longer see any part of the Sun through eclipse glasses or a solar viewer.)
As soon as you see even a little bit of the bright Sun reappear after totality, immediately put your eclipse glasses back on or use a handheld solar viewer to look at the Sun.
Happy solar eclipse day, everyone! And happy 500th episode of Awesome Etiquette! We hope this special day for us has a little magic in it for you, too.
Thank you for beginning your week with us and being part of the Awesome Etiquette community. See you on Thursday for the throwback article.
With high regard,
Lizzie and Dan
