Your etiquette tip, quote and an Emily Post Cookbook recipe to start your weekend off right!
The Tip
Should you have to burp in public unexpectedly, do your best to stifle the sound by keeping your lips closed and covering your mouth - especially as you gently and quietly exhale the burp. Whenever possible, excuse yourself from the company of others to do so.
The Recipe
Emily ensures we know exactly how to reheat our turkey to enjoy it even after the big day! Roll your way to the kitchen after this week’s feast and break out the leftovers!

Reheating Turkey
Time: N/A
Makes: N/A
Ingredients
1 tbs. butter
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable stock
salt and pepper to taste
a few drops of Maggi sauce
leftover turkey meat
Directions
Melt 1 tbs. butter in a heavy frying pan. Add 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable stock (liquid left in pressure cooker after cooking peas or other vegetables is very good). Add salt and pepper plus a few drops of Maggi sauce. When hot, put in sliced turkey and turn slices, wetting well with the hot butter and stock. As soon as hot, serve on hot plates, putting what is left of hot liquid on slices [of turkey] as sauce. This results in hot, juicy, well-flavored pieces of turkey that are at least as good as freshly carved pieces from a bird that has just come out of the oven for the first time.
The Quote
“Manners are like primary colors, there are certain rules, and once you have these, you merely mix.” - Emily Post.

We never get sick of this hilarious illustration of Emily Post by Miguel Covarrubias from 1933. Feet up, legs crossed, pinky out is a real laugh!
