The Saturday Sip: June 24, 2023
Your etiquette tip, quote and an Emily Post Cookbook recipe to start your weekend off right!
The Tip
If you’re leading a meeting and other attendees are posting frequent questions or comments that are interrupting the flow of either the discussion or material being presented, it’s okay to say to the person the next time they either indicate they’d like to speak or if they interrupt, you might have to respond with, “Gill, to keep us moving, I’m going to save answering this question until after the presentation.” [Addressing the whole group] “I’d like to save questions and comments until we’re through this section of the meeting.” If you’re an attendee at a meeting, remember that you can always write your thought or question down, and bring it up at the end, or after the meeting if need be.
The Recipes
Dan was enjoying cups of lobster bisque while down on Martha’s Vineyard with his family and while Emily doesn’t have that particular recipe, she does have one for cream of crab soup that looked delicious and had a twist we didn’t see coming.
Emily Post’s Cookbook, 1951, pg. 29
