Episode 554 - Bread Bowl
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week. Plus, the weekly etiquette challenge, Monday joke, and an etiquette extra for the kids.
On today’s show, we take your questions on eating from a bread bowl…yum, tipping at an all-inclusive resort, and how to address members of Congress in a letter. For Community Members, your question of the week is about an issue with calendar meeting invitations. Plus your weekly challenge, etiquette salute, and a postscript on attire from Emily’s 1922 edition of Etiquette.
Etiquette Extra - Honor and Respect
On this week’s show, in talking about how to address a Congressman, Lizzie and Dan turn to the contemporary source for information on names, titles, and forms of address - Robert Hickey. We promised to share a link to his authoritative online resource and are delighted to do so. This is one to bookmark for all your future questions on everything from addressing envelopes and introducing colleagues, to naming a child Jr.

Weekly Awesome Etiquette Challenge
This week’s challenge is to perform a digital communication manners review for yourself. Look at your email signatures, social icons, personal contact details, or text message settings and see if they are still what you think represents you the best. Sometimes, when we set up a new device or piece of software, we make choices that could be improved once we use them a bit, but the original default choice sticks around. Take this chance to make a few ‘settings’ changes that the people in your life will appreciate.
Signs of spring are popping here in the northeast! We hope the energy of the season is filling you up and getting you out into the great outdoors, be it the country, the local park, your backyard, or balcony.
All our very best,
Daniel and Lizzie
