Episode 543 - Invite Me Too
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week. Plus, the weekly etiquette challenge, Monday joke, and an etiquette extra where we look back on consideration, respect, and honesty.
On today’s show, we take your questions on tipping for pharmacy deliveries, wedding invitation timing, and when extra people join an invitation given as a holiday gift. For Community Members, we have a question about speaking multiple languages at the playground. Plus, your weekly challenge, etiquette salute, and a postscript segment where we revisit the themes of consideration, respect, and honesty and look at how they work together.
Etiquette Extra - Over a decade of consideration, respect, and honesty
Pardon the bad visual pun, but today’s Awesome Etiquette postscript segment wraps up our series on the core principles of consideration, respect, and honesty and has us looking back on all three. Episodes 1 - 3 and 200 are old favorite episodes, particularly because they clearly and directly discuss how we use these core principles at the Emily Post Institute to guide our advice. For us, there is something very grounding about looking back ten years and seeing, well, really hearing, both how things change and how there are some things that do stay very constant. The world can move fast, and having a strong and clear sense of where we come from and how we orient ourselves is comforting and helpful. We hope consideration, respect, and honesty can also be comforting and life-long guides for you.

Weekly Awesome Etiquette Challenge
This week’s challenge is to apply consideration, respect, and honesty together in your life. Look for a specific situation or choice you have to make and ask yourself if your decision or action is truly considerate, respectful, and honest. Assessing behavior through this lens should give you great confidence moving forward with your choice.
We hope that our deep dive through our three principles of etiquette has been informative and inspirational. We’d love to hear how you use consideration, respect, and honesty to help you interact well with others. Is it a little reminder of “CRH” in your head? Do you take one particular principle and use it to help guide the other two? Tell us in the comments!
Take care, and see you on Thursday!
All the best,
Daniel and Lizzie
