Etiquette Extra - Changing Times
As the new year approaches, we’re thinking about traditions and how traditions change. Well, up stepped MSN with an article about etiquette that boomers took as rock solid social expectations that don’t seem as present in the minds of Gen. Z, or at least show up in different ways. While we don’t agree that they are “on the way out,” the piece is a great list of classic etiquette and how people respond to it today. Now we just need to get out the message that the next generations will produce a similar article about Gen. Z in approximately (checks watch) twenty years. Enjoy.
We all remember the days when people dressed up for an airplane and sent handwritten thank-you notes. Feels like a long time ago, doesn't it? Weekly Awesome Etiquette Challenge
This week’s challenge is participating in a New Year’s tradition; whether you eat 12 grapes, smash a few plates, or kiss someone at midnight, find a tradition that resonates with you (resolutions???) and go for it.
In more ways than we can express, we appreciate the community that engages with Emily Post etiquette. You are the ambassadors of civility and decency, and we thank you for spending some of your time with us. We are made better for it. As we gather with friends and family and reflect on the year that has been and the year ahead, we are grateful for the gifts you all bring to this community.
As always, wishing you all the best,
