Episode 536 - Not Legal Advice
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week. Plus, your weekly etiquette challenge, the Monday joke, and an etiquette extra interview with Gift Giving expert Jeff Galak
On today’s show, we take your questions on not giving out legal advice if you’re a law student, stopping people from peeking at your materials on a plane, and being asked to give airline points as a wedding gift. For community members, we entertain a question about cooking for vegan in-laws. Plus your weekly challenge, etiquette salute, and a postscript segment interview with Jeff Galak about his gift-giving studies.
Etiquette Extra - Great Gifting
The science of gift giving? Yes the science of gift giving. Todays podcast interview is with Jeff Galak, an academic who offers advice on how to be a great gift giver that is arriving just in the nick of time. When you are finished with Lizzie Post’s extended interview there is even more podcast guest Jeff waiting for you on one of our favorites. Hidden Brain did a deep dive with Jeff back in 2022 on The Secret of Gift Giving that recieved a recent re-airing.

Weekly Podcast Etiquette Challenge
This week’s challenge is to make a multi-course meal at home. Now this does not have to be a fancy meal, it could simply be adding dessert after dinner and eating it at the table instead of like me who just grabs the Oreos about a half hour after dinner and plops down on the couch. Or you might try eating a salad or some soup before your normal supper of chicken, veg, and carb. However you decide to up it, try to get at least two or three courses into a meal this week.
