Episode 528 - Upgrade the Registry
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week. Plus your weekly etiquette challenge, the Monday joke, and an etiquette extra on an upcoming Civility panel.
On today’s show, we take your questions on upgrading the registry, puzzled by a birthday question, and offering support during a divorce. For Community Members, your question of the week is about speaking multiple languages both at work and socially. Plus, your weekly challenge, etiquette salute, and a postscript segment on How to Keep A Dinner List from Emily Post’s 1922 edition.
Etiquette Extra - Join Us on Oct. 23rd at 6:30 pm ET for a panel on What You Can Do to Reclaim Civility in American Life.
Our very own Lizzie Post will be joining Madeleine Jones, Preseton Brightwell, Raymond Mar, and Tania Israel for a conversation about what we can do to reclaim civility in American life. Weekly Podcast Etiquette Challenge
This week’s challenge is to try a different style of dinner service. Try plating your meal if you’re used to setting up a buffet on your counter and stovetop. If you’re used to plating, try family style, where dishes are brought to the table and served while seated. Have fun trying something different and shaking up your dinner routine!
Lizzie is back from Taylor Swift, and Dan is out on the road teaching dining etiquette this week. Our legendary podcast editor, Chris, is off on a well-deserved vacation (thank you for the extra questions to get him ahead of schedule). With all of our comings and goings, the pace of fall is in full swing here, and we hope that the season is feeling full and productive for you as well.
See you on Thursday.
All the best,
Lizzie and Dan
