It’s Wedding Story Wednesday! On this episode of Emily Post Wedding Stories, you’re invited to the wedding of Andy and Nick, whose November 17th, 2017, wedding at the Orlando Science Center in Orlando, Florida, was literally a party where they got married in the middle of it! With flambéed doughnuts, multiple buffets, and guests exploring the exhibits, their goal was a non-traditional wedding to celebrate the joy of the occasion with family and friends.

Rather than readings during their ceremony, Andy and Nick opted for their guests to tell stories about their love and relationship, and during the meal, a group of friends and family got up to perform skits, one of which was related to Andy’s profession as a reality TV critic, in which Nick’s family “voted” Andy into the family. (So sweet! *wipes a tear).

There’s so much to explore in this wedding story!

Andy and Nick were one of the first research interviews I did for our upcoming book Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette, out in February of 2027. So, please bear with our less-than-stellar sound quality and my off-the-cuff interviewing in this one.

It’s Wedding Story Wednesday! Welcome to Emily Post Wedding Stories, where we talk with married couples about how they planned their wedding and what they think looking back.

This week, you’re invited to the wedding of Elisha and Kim, whose March 2023 wedding in the Caribbean was filled with love and family, and thankfully, perfect weather after a week of rain!

Elisha and Kim are such a warm and friendly couple, and their wedding in Roseau, on the island of Dominica, was filled with Caribbean vibes, with their families supporting them and celebrating with them! While both members of the couple have family in the Caribbean, this was a destination wedding, and I was floored by how much they were able to save and do by choosing it as their destination.

Family played a huge role in this wedding, with one cousin providing wedding-planning services and another family member serving as the officiant. In less official capacities, family and friends traveling to the wedding helped out by bringing plates and decorations in their luggage! Keep an ear out at the end of the interview for the tale of how a cruise ship almost ruined the view!

Welcome to our first-ever episode of Emily Post Wedding Stories, where we talk with married couples about how they planned their wedding and what they think looking back.

This week, you’re invited to the wedding of Puja Gupta and Daniel Post Senning, whose ceremony at a castle in Almont, New York, showcased a blend of Christian and Hindu ceremonies.

Puja and Dan’s wedding was a special one for me, as I got to attend! Dan is my cousin, co-president at the Emily Post Institute, and co-host on the Awesome Etiquette podcast. At the time of recording, we were creeping up on their ten-year anniversary. It was so much fun reminiscing on how they each brought in their own traditions, combining Hinduism and Christianity in a vibrant celebration. The reception featured an Indian buffet and lots of dancing!

Puja and Dan’s interview was recorded as research for our upcoming book, Emily Post’s Wedding Etiquette, out in February of 2027. Please excuse any less-than-stellar audio quality.
